Web28 oct. 2024 · Liver X receptor α (LXRα) LXRα cannot bind to the human CYP7A1 promoter due to an alteration of the DR4 motif in the BARE-I sequence. Therefore, in humans LXRα does not play a role in the regulation of CYP7A1 gene expression. Unlike in humans, LXRα can directly bind to the Cyp7a1 promoter to upregulate expression.
