You want to have about 1/8'' of space between the catch and bolt with the carrier fully charged fully rearward. This gives enough space/time for the catch to raise up before the bolt moves forward.

When playing with it and manipulating the bolt, I realized that the bolt carrier was not locking back on an empty magazine. It doesn't lock back maybe 90% of the time.
